Christmas 2014

Christmas day started with a trip to Sarah and Michael's to see what Santa brought Emily.  She got an Xbox, an American Girl doll, a rolling dinosaur, and lots of other stuff!  We had breakfast and met her new dog, Porsche, before heading to my parents' house for brunch.

Cobb salad, potato salad, turkey, stuffing, cranberries, deviled eggs, fruit salad, veggies and ham biscuits!
Brunch was amazing.  I filled up my plate twice and Jeff and took plenty of leftovers home which didn't last long at all!

Hailey and Emily opened up some gifts from my parents and then it was our turn to open up some gifts.

I think each of them had more Christmases than they could count!

Surprised that Grandma and Papa got her a tablet?!
Hailey got to spend plenty of time with Daddy learning to use her new tablet.  She went over to his new place after our brunch and got to hang out for even longer.

Finally, we have a picture of both of us.  :) Jeff and Emily had to head out to his parents house to open gifts.  I didn't go with them because his mom was sick and they postponed their Christmas dinner.

I think I shocked my dad just a little bit with a new shotgun for Christmas!  It's a Remington 870 express :)  Mom got plenty of new Pandora jewelry too!

He is ready!

Mom and Dad in their Christmas red.  They went crazy with the gifts this year and I got earrings, a new down jacket with matching hat and scarf, a new Dyson vacuum (that Jeff will be using a lot ;)), a permaloft jacket for hunting, flashlight, clothes, etc.

After another long day, Jeff and I finally exchanged our gifts and Tank got his favorite spot back under the tree.  Jeff got some new shirts, sweaters, pants and a special watch while I got plenty of new Loft clothes, a sweatshirt that I pinned months ago, and lots of stuff for the house.

And last but not least, the dogs got to open their stocking...all three got new Kong stuffed animals and homemade cheesy delight treats that we made for them!

Christmas Eve

Santa came a day early to see Hailey since he was so busy with all of the other houses on Christmas....and he left a television for her bedroom!   This lucky girl got to spend the day with uncle Rich and Whitney and then came over to our house to see what Santa left for her.  Emily spent Christmas Eve with us as well which made both girls very happy.

Uncle Rich gave Hailey a Roku so the girls can listen to Pandora and watch all kinds of Disney shows etc, on the new television.

Emily and Hailey opened up their presents from me.  They each got a new Lego set and lots of crafty items.  Emily gave me a new pair of my favorite Pink sweatpants and Hailey gave Jeff a new purple Chaps button up shirt.

Their expression for the day, "Noooo way!"

Jeff and I started a new tradition of making an Asian dish on Christmas Eve.  This year it was baked honey sesame chicken.  The recipe is here.  We threw in some broccoli and put it over brown rice.  It was pretty darn tasty!

After a long day of running around and opening presents we were all ready to relax and get to bed early.

Here are our attempts at Christmas Eve pics.... ha!  Tank is the only one who can pose!

Breakfast with Santa

Over the weekend we were able to do a lot of Christmas activities!  It was nice to have both girls all weekend so that they would both get to experience everything.  Friday night we went to Chic-fil-a for dinner and then headed out to look at Christmas lights.  We intended to go look at some lights on the Tacky Light Tour in Richmond, but it got too late so we went to Gypsy Hill Park and then to some neighborhoods.

Saturday morning we went to Stella, Bella, and Lucy's for breakfast with Santa and Grandma and Papa and Daddy.  Breakfast was yummy- Mickey Mouse pancakes and sausage for the girls and french toast, omelets and burritos for the rest of us.  It's nice seeing Santa in such a small setting because the girls kept going back up to see him and it was relaxing.

Saturday afternoon I helped the girls make Christmas ornaments as gifts and then we baked some sugar cookies.  Jeff got the fun task of sanding the basement while we played.  We watched Prancer and make peanut butter balls and more cookies that night.

The girls played all day on Sunday while Jeff and I took everything out of the kitchen cabinets and cleaned and organized everything.  I love accomplishing big tasks like that.  Its so nice to have matching lids to everything and have easy access to things that we use.

Only 9 days until Christmas!

Got 'Em

After many, many days of not seeing any deer...seems to be the trend this year so far...Jeff got two this morning.  He got a good size buck and a mature doe with plenty of meat.  Of course he shot them from the doubt tree stand that he got for both of us.  Hopefully by the time I get up there I'll be able to see something good too.

Good looking fellow

Jeff had a hard time getting this guys around in the woods, but he got it done.

Christmas Spirit

Last weekend Jeff and I went to Bit 'O Honey farm in Fishersville and cut down our tree.  It was hard to find one that was just right, but we can away with this one and I like it a little more each day.  We got it decorated and put a few present under it right away.

Decorated

Also got some new stockings with a "D", "J", and paw print.  Plus a lantern on the table from my parents and some lighted garland from Plow and Hearth that I ordered.
Jeff and Emily also got a tree for his apartment last week.  I love some colored lights...went out and got some that I put up in my bedroom just to have that glow here too.

Cape Charles Fishing

Jeff, his dad, and a few other guys went to the bay for a weekend fishing trip. The water was a little rough, but they still had a good time despite only catching two small ones that they had to throw back.

Nasty eels

Pretty, but cold

Think it's cold?

Lots of excitement;)
