Craves: sour cream and hint of lime chips, eggs (scrambled, egg salad), salad dressing
Dislikes: large meals, gravy or red sauce that will cause heartburn
Symptoms:  nausea, fatigue, heartburn and lots of sinus drainage which doesn't help with the nausea

Daddy notes:  We spent two hours in target comparing pack and plays and strollers. Dana wants to buy everything now even though we don't have a sex for the baby yet.  What is she thinking?  She has a chair in the basement but wants to buy a new one anyways. She is also experiencing baby brain which has started to affect her driving.

10 Weeks Pregnant

This week I had some improvement with the nausea and I seem to be a little more hungry.  On Friday we had our first appointment at the Women's Center.  After several attempts we heard the baby's heartbeat for a split second, but then couldn't find it again.  We are all certain that we heard it though and that's what counts.  I had blood work done, a finger prick, and two urine samples.  We are set to return in two weeks on Oct. 4th for our 12 week ultrasound.  I am looking forward to being able to see the baby again! We were pleased with the physician's assistant that we saw on Friday and look forward to seeing her again.

10 WEEKS

Baby Size: Baby Snead is the size of a prune
Craves: mayo on sandwiches, salads, fruit juice and canned fruit
Dislikes: large meals, gravy or red sauce that will cause heartburn
Symptoms:  nausea (although the unisom and b6 have helped some), fatigue, heartburn
Momma Weight: 131

Yesterday was the LAST day of the dreaded progesterone shots!  Woohoo!  I will be nervous for a while after stopping them, but the doctors obviously know what is best.  I am thrilled to eliminate 15 minutes from my morning routine that went like this: heating pad to the hip, draw up the injection, switch needle tips, heat a wash cloth and wrap the needle in it, wipe the area with alcohol, do the injection and then massage the area with a heating pad.  Ugh.  Literally a pain in my ass for the last 58 days!!!  Hopefully all of the oil lumps that have accumulated, bruises and soreness will go away soon!

9 Weeks Pregnant

This week I am being weaned off of my progesterone shots!  Down to 1/2 ml each morning at this point and I should be able to stop the shots this Saturday.  The estradiol 3 times a day will continue this week and then drop to twice a day and the lovely suppositories continue.

I had my first migraine this week unfortunately and was up an entire night trying to deal with the pain without my drugs of choice.  I talked to my OB and was able to get phenegran in addition to 1000 mg of Tylenol at a time to try. Apparently Excedrin migraine is also okay to use if needed. She also started me on 400 mg of magnesium a day. I am hoping that these help.

I am looking forward to my 10 week appointment with my OB this Friday.  It's finally time to leave the Reproductive Medicine and Surgery Center of VA and head to the Women's Center on this side of the mountain.  It's hard to leave a place that I've called home the last two years.  The constant visits and emails and phone calls with Dr. Williams and Stephanie make it hard to move on!  We will be forever grateful for all of their help during this journey!

And, those gray skies are from Hurricane Florence!

6th Grade Social and Fire Recruiting

Emily had the day off from school, so Jeff brought her to Henley to join us for the 6th grade social.  She was able to reconnect with Abby, her best friend from second grade.  It was so cute to see them meet up and barely recognize each other!

We've also been able to get some updates from Emily's classes through Class Dojo.  It's nice to see her doing some work at school!

And, look who it is on the postcard we received in the mail!!  Britton and Grubb were also featured.  I guess Jeff was the token old guy on the recruitment card.  :)

This was a big week for us!  We told Emily and then broke the news to Jeff's parents and the rest of the world.  Emily started off with a few tears, but after answering all of her questions and assuring her that she wouldn't get fewer Christmas presents (ha!) her tune changed.  Now she wants to ask questions about the baby constantly and is already on a mission to use Pinterest to pick out baby names.  Jeff's parents were thrilled and Aunt Jenn is ready to crochet all kinds of baby stuff!

FINALLY I've got a parking spot that I've wanted for so many years!!!
