Hunting over the break

Try hiking a mountain with a backpack, three layers, a rifle and a big belly.....fun times;)  Actually, we have had a great time getting some hunting days in the last week or so.  I've had to wear Jeff's camo pants because none of my fit, but once I got used to them they work just fine!  We ended up hiking up a mountain which was fun, but very slow because of my heart rate.  I would take about 10 steps and then take a break and luckily Jeff started carrying some of my stuff.  The downhill trip was much better!

We had the pleasure of watching a yearling doe for quite some time in the pines.  She got really close and did not even run off when we finally got up to leave our spot. I was even able to get into the tree stand with my firefighter husband's assistance to make sure there was not a chance of falling.  Here is to better luck actually seeing a big buck before the season is over!

Our Turkey Day

We celebrated Thanksgiving a day early at our house and even tried a new turkey recipe which seemed to work well! Baby Snead enjoyed all of the food, especially the pumpkin pie! Oh yes and it's no shave November so that's always something to be thankful for ;)

Ice Storm = No Power :(

What a miserable ice storm!!!  We made the best of it by going to see the Grinch.  Unfortunately, when we got home Jeff had to head in to work and an hour later the power went off.  Emily and I had fish sticks in the oven, so we headed to Cracker Barrel where we had to wait an hour to get seated because of how many restaurants were closed due to the power outage and the number of people trying to get warm food!  The night was miserably cold and way too quiet without my air filter running!  The next morning, still no power so I headed to Jeff's parents to shower before work which was on a 2 hour delay.  That night we still had no power!  Saturday I ended up at Brandi's for a shower and we shopped some before getting the great news around 2:30 pm that the power had finally been restored!!  We lost a neighborhood willow tree right outside of our fence and several limbs on our tree out front, but that was nothing compared to all of the damage in town and on the mountain.  It still looks like a tornado tore off the tree tops on Afton.

Muzzleloader Season

With the okay from the doctor, I was able to join Jeff during muzzleloader season.  We did a fair amount of hiking which was definitely difficult compared to last year at this time!  The weather was beautiful though and although we didn't have any luck it was nice to be back in the woods.

16 Weeks Pregnant

The food dreams continue with one about the perfect "golden" turkey.  The only proper thing to do after a dream like this is to cook a "Thanksgiving" meal for dinner Saturday night.  :)  Now I can't wait to eat more stuffing and cranberry sauce!!

Oh baby, you are moving like crazy some days and some days I barely feel a thing.  While I tried to eat my turkey dinner, you felt like you were flipping and doing a happy dance for at least an hour.  Daddy was able to see my belly moving with your shenanigans.
