Poor Marley

Poor Marley had a runny irritated eye, so I took him to the vet and he got some antibiotic eye drops.  However, the bigger issues is that his bloodwork came back with a blood sugar of almost 600. Yikes.  Now we are preparing for a new dog food and two shots of insulin for the rest of his life.  :(  Poor Marley and poor us...

Bugg's Island Spring 2018

First, it is about time some of our flowers started blooming!  Second, Jeff and the boys had a nice trip to Bugg's this year.  They caught plenty of fish despite the muddy conditions. Butch caught a whopper!

Date Night

We joined Brandi and Justin on their date night without the kids and hit up the big town of Waynesboro.  We had dinner at the Fishin' Pig and then went to Heritage for more drinks.  There wasn't much going on, but we still had a great time chatting it up while the boys chose jukebox songs:)

Willy Wonka Play

We had the joy of watching Emily perform in another school play this year.  Ha!  The kids did a great job, and Emily made a fine Oompa Loompa :)

Finally time to Fish!

It has been two months since we purchased the new boat and FINALLY I was able to go out and enjoy it!  A "sick day" was just what the doctor ordered.  We didn't do much in the way of fishing, but it was nice to get the boat on the water.  We both had a good laugh after getting absolutely soaked from a wave that came over the boat.  The wind was something fierce.  I am looking forward to my console coming in and getting back on the water.

John out fishing ahead of us

Spring Break

Like I said, the spring is soooo slow to happen this year.  It's so slow in fact that we were dressed like it was a winter day for our round of golf.  We ended up joining a team of two other men and had a great time playing with them.  They ended up giving us some free beer to take home too, win win.

We didn't end up getting to fish at all due to the weather, but we planned our kitchen remodel and organized a lot of fishing lures.

Easter 2018

I made the girls some Annie's cinnamon buns and turned them into bunnies for breakfast.:)  We promptly hid some eggs, got the girls cleaned up and then grandma came down for lunch and another round of Easter baskets.  We baked a ham and had scalloped potatoes, cowboy beans, fresh green beans, deviled eggs and hot rolls for lunch.  Afterwards, the girls had their Easter egg hunt in the chilly, cloudy weather...boooo.  This has been the slowest start to spring that I can remember.

Of course we had about a million photo opportunities and retakes between my mom and I.  Jeff's parents came down later in the afternoon and the girls got more candy!

The next day, we dropped of Easter treats at the Cancer Center that my STING class put together.  It's always a bittersweet trip.

Tank is in on the fun
