Tornado, Tuesday 4/26/22

I was at school when Jeff started sending me pictures of a crazy storm that was happening at home.  At first I didn't think much of the flooding creek because I had seen that happen in the past.  However, when he said he was in the basement because it sounds like the roof might blow off I knew something bigger must be happening.

An EF1 tornado ended up going through our neighborhood with winds up to 90 mph. Shortly after the storm, my mom and Jeff started sending pictures of the damage.  There were piles and piles of hail, trees down, shingles off of roofs, grass on rooftops, siding with holes in it, etc.  Jeff quickly went to pick Finley up from school which is right down the street.  Part of their awning had blown off and there was water flooding into the building and they had no power.  I am so thankful that everyone was ok!  I was in shock to see how much hail was on the roadways when I got home.  Some of it lasted for days like a snowstorm!

Our hostas were sheared off - all of my new plants and tulips were completed sheared off as well.

Our neighbor's farm completely lost their barn - luckily the horses were okay.

Ding Dong!

Ding dong!  This girl loves to ring the doorbell and have someone answer it!  I can't get enough of her sweet face. :)

After getting plants yesterday, it was time to put some in the garden.  Finley put on her boots and got ready to help Daddy.  She loved planting the green beans, squash and zucchini seeds as well as putting tomatoes in the ground.  She kept wanting to check to see if we had tomatoes growing yet that afternoon and days later:)

I have not doubt she will love watering plants this year as much as she did last year!

Topped off the beautiful with our favorite - kabobs!

And then bubbles, pinwheels and Finley's first kite!   Boy did she love watching the kite go up in the air!  She did such a good job of holding onto it:)  She would burst out into laughter when it hit the ground, especially if it almost hit one of us!
