Fun with the Doggies!

I love getting pictures like this from Nana during the day! :)

This girl loves to stand at her activity table and gets very frustrated if she can't get to the side that she wants to play with.  She has not figured out how to cruise around yet, but I am guessing she will pick those feet up soon and start moving!

Trying some bananas again!

Goodness, we have to keep an eye on her now...she wants to grab the dogs feet, tails and fur anytime she gets the chance! They have been so good about letting her do what she wants or getting up and walking away. 

Double Ear Infection

This poor baby woke us up last night screaming at 9:30 and we could not get her to calm down until 11:00 after we gave her ibuprofen.  It was the first time she has ever been inconsolable.  Usually, even if she hurts herself it takes a minute or two or she nurses and is back to her happy self.  It was so heartbreaking to listen to her cry and hold her and try everything we could to make her better without it helping.  Thankfully once the meds kicked in she was able to go back to sleep. 

This morning she seemed better so I took her to my mom's house to take her monthly pictures, but she wasn't quite herself.  I debating taking her back to the doctor, but once 2:00 pm rolled around ther was no more debate.  She was back to crying for no apparent reason.   This time Dr. Fern saw her and said that both ears were infected.  Her left ear, which she had her first ear infection in, was blocked with wax so he had to use a little hook to pull it and what ended up being runny infection out.  His guess is that she had a slight rupture which is what made it so painful.  When I asked about her ears being clear the day before, he said that three times in his career he has seen ear infections come on that quickly. 

24 hours later and a day at home with Dada and antibiotics, Finn was back to her normal happy self!

9 month check up

Finley had her nine month check up while Jeff and I were both off of work.  She has had a little cold with a cough and congestion for three days so we made sure Dr. Hostetter checked out her lungs and ears, but everything looked good.  She also has a small rash on her back, but it seems to just be a dry patch so we are using vaseline on it for now.

Everything else checked out great!  She's in the 50 percentile for height and weight and 73rd for head size.  She was a ham as usual for the doctor. :)

And then as usual, during the long weight Mama gets her usual pic with Finn...always wanting to nurse. Ha!

Dr. H suggested that we try more finger foods so Toots got a half a banana when we got home.  She did a great job holding it until it got slippery and managed to eat a little bit. We will keep working on the food, but right now she prefers playing with it and drinking plenty of Mama milk.

 Poor girl was tired after running a couple errands...

It's super nice when the girls eat dinner right before us and can play with Finley while we eat.  She enjoys grabbing Em's necklace and Hailey's hoodie strings. I think going a few days without seeing them makes her even more excited when they are around.

Since her new favorite word is Dada, she is able to help Jeff read this book.  The video I took is precious!

We Like Dog Hair

Yep, she's officially a mess and into everything.  That little pincher grip is no joke whether it is pinching your face, the back of your arm, or picking of dog hair off of the floor.  She loves trying to get to the dogs, but luckily both of them pretty much stay out of her way.

I love that she can pick up these tiny pieces and examine them, but then listen to the "no" and not put them in her mouth.  The biggest test was when I was in the kitchen washing dishes watching her and she listened every single time and put the hair back down. 

 Nope, that doesn't go in your mouth!!

When Finn wakes up from a nap and sees Mama...

Finley loves her new updated version of the caterpillar toy that I had when I was little.  Don't get me wrong, she loves the old version but I'm a little afraid of her putting that paint in her mouth!  She takes the new caterpillar to the wood floor and pushes it around.  I think because it is so exciting she swishes her legs back and forth while doing it.  

I'm 9 months old today!

Mama took a few quick 9 month pictures before taking me to NaNa's today.  I'm such a big girl that I almost crawled right off the car!  We had to take a picture to send to Aunt Jenn for her birthday today.
