Two Snow Storms, One Week

Storm 1, Monday, February 16th...  Tank and I spent some time outside when it first started coming down. :)

I got to spend several days at the gym working out mid-morning instead up waking up at the crack of dawn to get there.  I think we missed a total of 12 days of school.

Emily had some days off during the week and enjoyed her time with Marley.

We lost power for a few hours when it was 4 degrees outside, but luckily Jeff got the fireplace going so it wasn't too bad.  The dogs loved the blankets that I put down in the living room!

Storm 2. Saturday, February 21st... Did I mention that I love snow days?  Lots of time with Jeff and the girls and the dogs...can't beat it!

The girls had a blast getting to spend several days together!

We made a balsamic pork roast that was delicious!!

36th birthday

I celebrated my 36th birthday with my parents, Jeff and Emily.  Somehow I managed not to take any pictures of the day though, other than the pretty jewelry armoire that Jeff gave me.  We celebrated with a nice dinner at Greenleaf.   I've continued to celebrate though; making use of the new parka that my parents gave me during the latest snow storm and finally going to see American Sniper yesterday.  A nice low key day was just what I needed!

Valentine's Day

Even though Jeff refuses to celebrate Valentine's day, I still wanted to make the day special for all of us.  Above is one of the cards that I made...gotta to love trying to cut out decent heart shapes.  I also tried my hand at a Pinterest craft below; a sharpied mug.  You just use a Sharpie to create your design and then bake it for 30 minutes at 350 degrees, letting the mug heat up and cool down in the oven.  I did that twice, hoping the ink will stay put.  We shall see.

The most fun part of the day was watching Emily try to figure out the scavenger hunt that I put together for her.  I didn't realize it was so hard to come up with good clues until I started making it.  She had a little trouble figuring them out, but that made it even more exciting when she did.  Of course when she found the last clue and her treat under my bed "where Marley hides his squeakies" she was disappointed that she didn't have more clues to follow. Ha!  Next time I'll have to make more.

Emily with "Jack's baby" that my mom gave her for Valentine's day.  She had a whole family of white dogs playing together all weekend.  I'm just surprised that the real dogs didn't get a hold of any of them!

Father/daughter Dance

These two cuties headed out to their 3rd Father/Daughter dance this evening.  They continued the tradition of going shopping together for the perfect dress and shoes together.  Emily's outfit was complete with red nail polish and braided hair;).  I hear that Em did a little more dancing this year and they both enjoyed Sweet Frogs before heading back home.

Hailey and I had our own night of Chic-fil-a and Target shopping. :)

These two had to have a picture together too
