Blackberry Days

Thank you to the Britton's for fresh blackberries, which turned into blackberry cobbler.  This cobbler recipe is amazing...loved it for peach cobbler as well.

Blackberry Cobbler Recipe (from Pioneer Woman)

Ingredients:
  • 1 stick Butter
  • 1-1/4 cup Sugar
  • 1 cup Self-Rising Flour
  • 1 cup Milk
  • 2 cups Blackberries (frozen Or Fresh)
Directions:
Melt butter in a microwavable dish. Pour 1 cup of sugar and flour into a mixing bowl, whisking in milk. Mix well. Then, pour in melted butter and whisk it all well together. Butter a baking dish.

Now rinse and pat dry the blackberries. Pour the batter into the buttered baking dish. Sprinkle blackberries over the top of the batter; distributing evenly. Sprinkle ¼ cup sugar over the top.

Bake in the oven at 350 degrees for 1 hour, or until golden and bubbly. If you desire, sprinkle an additional teaspoon of sugar over the cobbler 10 minutes before it’s done.

Lake Anna Fishing

Ahhhhh the boat is out on the water with my console installed so I don't get beat to death by the wind.  We did some decent fishing around the 208 bridge and then headed home for the evening.

First Day of Summer School, Last Day of Swim Lessons

This year I was able to teach PE during summer school!  It was definitely different from being in the classroom, but it was also plenty of fun!

The girls finished up Level 4 swim lessons and did such a good job!  They both took it seriously and improved so much over the last several weeks. They've already asked when the next classes start. :)

Fishing, Shooting, Relaxing...

Jeff and I spent a day recharging by fishing and shooting at the Sportman's club.  I wish we had more of these days where nothing else matters.  We were back home in time to relax for the afternoon!  I even got a nice foot massage...he is certainly the best!

Happy Father's Day!

This day will always be bittersweet for me.  I miss my dad like crazy, but I am happy that I can celebrate with this guy.  Unfortunately Jeff had to work, so I got Emily and Hailey for the day and we went to the station to surprise him.  He showed of the baby mockingbirds that made a return this year and the girls ran all over the place and equipment as usual!

Summer time

heart

All three boys on the porch!

So cute!

Grilling zucchini and cod

These two had to go to the vet.  Poor Marley has diabetes and requires insulin twice a day.  Tank's kidney values were not good, so we are starting kidney diet food and lots of different medications.  Poor guys!

2nd Console is in!

After several hours, we were able to install the second console in the boat.  Of course it wasn't just that easy because the latest problem is that the windshields do not match.  Ugh!  Luckily they are sending another one and we will get that on and then we will be ready to roll!

More Summer Fun!

Everyone is loving the warm weather!  Lots of time outside checking out our flowers and garden, lounging on the deck, reading, and playing with the pups.  The A-shift guys at station 11 have done quite a nice job on their garden!  And, FINALLY our second console for the boat came in only 4 months later...ugh! Aunt Jenn sent over some crocheted water balloons for the girls and they were a hit!

My heart shaped hydrangea

Reading on the deck is the place to be!

FINALLY the second console for the boat is here!

Roonie enjoying the sun.
