Hailey's 11th Birthday!

We started the day with a trip to Henley's orchard to pick some apples.  The apples looked terrible due to the rainy summer, but they still tasted great.  It took us quite a while to find some that looked appealing, but we still had fun.  Afterwards, we went to Emily's soccer game and then headed home for Hailey's birthday party.

Matt and Shannon, Grandma and Mike were able to come over to celebrate.  We served Hailey's favorites - ham and swiss sliders, baked beans, deviled eggs, green beans and pumpkin pie.  The girls have been loving "Lori" dolls and accessories so it was no surprise that the stable Grandma gave Hailey was a hit.

This is what we do at soccer games

14 Weeks Pregnant

14 WEEKS

Baby Size: Baby Snead is the size of a lemon
Craves: fajitas, chili mac, sour cream
Dislikes: ice cream, most desserts are just not that exciting
Symptoms:  had some headaches, a terrible migraine and some nausea
Momma Weight: 135

We caught some good deals on Target and made use of some gift cards this week.  The travel system with car seat was a breeze to put together.  We also purchased a crib and mattress, but have not started working on that yet.  All of these things make it seem more real, but so strange at the same time!

And, here are a few outfits I bought on clearance at Kohl's a couple of weeks ago.  They have a great return policy so either way we should be good!

13 Weeks Pregnant

13 WEEKS

Baby Size: Baby Snead is the size of a peach
Craves: condiments are still a high priority, mayo, ketchup, chic-fil-a sauce, etc. Poptarts
Dislikes: red sauce and chocolate that will cause heartburn
Symptoms:  nausea, but not quite as bad as the week before
Momma Weight: 134

Daddy Weight: still sexy
Daddy Notes:  I spent the week at Buggs Island fishing until Hurricane Michael came through and caused a mess.  Yo momma kept me up to date on how she was feeling and how much she was eating.  It's finally turning cooler and starting to feel like fall even though the leaves are still green.  I have to go get a sugar cookie before your mother eats them all.

This week I have had some pretty crazy dreams, most of them about food, and then I wake up starving and have to get something to eat in the middle of the night.  My first dream included me asking the owner of Blue Oregano to bake me sugar cookies with frosting. The second one included waiting in line at Sticks only to never receive my order of a chicken platter, rice, fries, and cilantro lime sauce.  And the latest, was a dream of apples and peanut butter.  Each of these dreams repeats itself until I get up and get a snack.  Since then I've had an apple and peanut butter each day.  Jeff and I are currently baking some homemade sugar cookies and I guess next week I'll have to make a trip to Sticks!  One of the most bizarre symptoms is that I do not want anything to do with ice cream at all, after years of eating it every single night.  So strange!

And last but not least, I told my Advisory class the news during our morning meeting.  We played a game of telephone to pass the news along and it was hysterical to see their faces and surprise as they heard the news and told their neighbor.  Unfortunately, my video did not work, but I did get one picture.  They are super excited and can't wait to find out if it is a boy or girl.

And, here are my cookies!

12 Weeks Pregnant

On Thursday, we went back to the Women's Center to have our 12 week nuchal ultrasound.  The appointment was the best one so far!  We got to see Baby Snead flipping around and being spastic on the monitor.  The tech gave us her best guess as to what we are having, but we will wait until 20 weeks to find out for sure.  If our insurance had not reset on Oct. 1st we could have gotten the blood work to confirm the sex for $165, but now it is $600 so we will skip that part. Grrrr.  The scan showed a very healthy normal looking baby with an extremely low chance of  Downs Syndrome or other disorders based on the screening. :)

I think we are both in agreement with the tech and if so, already have a name picked out:)   The heart rate was 153 and baby measured at 5.7 cm (2.2 inches long).  He/she is measuring 4 days bigger than my due date.  Right now the placenta is placed on the anterior side, but this should not cause a problem. We got some great pictures, but obviously being in the room and watching the baby move and see his/her cute profile was absolutely the best!

Thursday morning before our appointment, I had a very cold peanut butter banana protein shake and just after starting to drink it I felt some very strange movement which I am convinced was the baby waking up and flipping just like he or she did on the ultrasound.

12 WEEKS

Baby Size: Baby Snead is the size of a plum
Craves: thousand island dressing (big macs), french fries, sour cream
Dislikes: red sauce and chocolate that will cause heartburn
Symptoms:  nausea, but more gagging in the evenings either from drainage, excess saliva or acid reflux.
Momma Weight: 132

Daddy Weight: still sexy
Daddy notes:   Dana eats slow and goes to bed early yet still finds plenty of time to tell me how bad she feels.  Her bump is growing but maintains her same level of sexiness. She has started eating pop tarts against my medical advice.

HALLELUJAH!!!  The last day of estradiol and progesterone suppositories was FRIDAY!  This is such a big milestone.  I am hoping that I will sleep much better now!
