One Last Trip to School

Just a girl and Mama's pumping equipment...

Finley tried some Annie's bunny grahams today.  I'd say they were quite the hit.  You can always tell when she likes something because you can't take them away without a fight.

On the other hand, we are still fighting most food at the dinner table.  She does like the fact that she can stick her finger down in the pouch though.

I had to make a trip to school to grab some materials for our online learning that is going to start after spring break.  How strange is it to have to limit the number of people in the building and to talk to your coworkers from 6 feet apart?! I got in and out in less than 10 minutes.  Hopefully I have all that I need for 6 weeks of distance learning.

Eerie to see the date on the board when we abandoned school..

We've spent more time outside finishing up garden stuff and just getting some fresh air!

Baking is one of my favorite things to do and now I have plenty of time to do it.  Banana nut bread it is this week!

And I almost forgot...look at what is happening to the spare bedroom in the basement??  Craft room is in full effect.

When I say Finley likes to read, I really mean she LOVES to read.  We can read all day long and she is a happy camper.

Bath time is still a hit every single night:)

More Time at Home

We are still just hanging out over here...chillin in our pjs until lunch time, working out, walking the dogs, cooking and cleaning.

Sweaty, sweaty workouts are happening over here!

Finley has definitely taken a turn for the worse when it comes to eating.  She is down to maybe a whole pouch of food throughout the day total. She does not want our assistance for anything and wants to "do it herself."  She would prefer to eat cheerios and creamies or yogi melts over anything.  This is strange to me because the Cheerios are very plain and they are hard, but she seems to love them.  I reached out to a friend who is a dietitian and she suggested just putting whatever we are eating on Finley's plate and then just let her explore.  She basically said give up on trying to feed her and let her feed herself or push away or throw her food on the floor.

Here was her reaction to the turkey meatball and wrap that I put her on her tray.  Ha!

I ended up squirting some of her pouch out and let her use her own spoon to feed herself.   She did okay with it so that is our plan from here on out.

If you don't keep a close eye on this turkey she will do things like pull a chunk of hair right out of Jack's tail!  It's a good thing that he is patient with her for the most part.

Marley is enjoying the nice weather and fresh cut grass!

Round two of feeding- Mama's oatmeal...she loved it but only ate a very tiny amount.

Jeff is home for his four day so I finally flew the coup and went to Petsmart to get some dog food.  Boy oh boy did I need a 30 minute break to get out of the house, drive alone and relax.

Pictures from our cameras are so creepy, but also so funny when someone has figured out where the camera is!

And what do we do each night you ask?  A bowl full of ice cream with a side of pizzelles and something recorded to watch on tv.  We are living it up I tell ya.

Early Birthday Present

Someone is now standing up in her crib!  She has already found the camera and pulled it down, so we've had to change its position.

Jeff and I wanted to be able to get a few things done outside as the weather improves, so we ordered Finley an early birthday present.  She absolutely loves it!  The swing is hanging under our deck so it is nice and shady and gives us easy access to the garden.  We got right to work and Jeff planted broccoli, chard, and celery in the garden and we put lettuce and strawberries in the pots on the deck.

We've been trying to teach Finley sign language, especially while she is eating since this is a frustrating time for all of us.  I've been using the signs for "eat", "more", and "all done."  Today I decided to teach her "milk" each time I nursed her.  I assumed that she was just taking in the signs as usual but not actually using them yet, but she surprised me when I asked her what the sign for milk was and she did it right away!  It had been several hours since I had signed it and I gave her no prompting.  Smart girl!

We are loving this nice evenings out on the deck!

A Few of My Favorite Things

Jamberry is one of Finn's favorite books, along with about 10 others that she wants us to read constantly to her.  I love that she is loving reading so much!  Her brain is growing like crazy! Today, after just a couple of minutes showing her where my nose is and pointing at hers, I asked her where her nose is and she was able to point right at it!  She picks up on things so so quickly!

We still pull out the jumperoo every once in a while, but this girl is on the move constantly.

The caterpillar pull around toy that was mine when I was little is still one of her favorite toys!

Mama's sweet girl. :)

One of Finley's favorite things is having someone walk her all around the house to look a pictures on the walls.  She will point and yell until you pick her up and carry her around.  She is quick to say Dada to each picture.

Finley's stomach has not done very well with the introduction of solid foods.  She often gets constipated and we haven't quite figured out what is causing it.  Today we decided to try some apple juice and boy did this little monster love it!  We didn't let her have much, but it did the trick.

Social distancing still involves some walks with Grandma around the neighborhood.  Sometimes we need a hat and jacket and others we only need short sleeves.  I guess that is spring weather for you.

I can not wait for Finley's bday present to arrive - it is a four piece corner play climber that she can roll, climb and jump on.  She loves jumping on the dog beds and just laying there kicking her feet.
