Rough Month

Finley has had a rough month since Covid. She has not been sleeping well, refusing naps at home, having extreme meltdowns, and having very large bowel movements.  Of course we think they are all related.  It has been exhausting - we've been to the pediatrician and then to GI.  She also got another virus at the end of the month and was miserably sick AGAIN.

Once she was feeling better, I at least got her out of the house and to Target.

Little ham!

She wants us to blow up balloons and let them go over and over again!  She just thinks it is hysterical.  Do it again!

I got a haircut!

Finally better and happy at YaYa's house having ice cream.

I broke out the Easter stuff way early to try to distract Finn from the constant meltdowns!

Solar bag demonstration in my class at school.

Finn has to do all of these puzzles every single night before bedtime.

Taking a good nap at YaYa's house.

This is what happens when I put Finn down at home - screaming and screaming.  Thank goodness she sleeps at YaYa's for naps some times.

Potty Trained?!

Finley started asking to wear underwear to school last week and followed through this week with no accidents!  She still wears a diaper during naptime and at night, but she has done amazing.  We let her lead the way by just having potties out around the house and showing her new underwear and she made the decision to train herself. :)  Yay!   We will tackle the naptime/bedtime as it comes, but I am just shocked at how easy it was for her to make this transition.

And second thoughts about that ease of transition - We can not figure out if she is going through a leap or if it is COVID related, but she has been a nightmare of the last week or so.  She has been unable to fall asleep at night and screams when we try to put her down.  It has taken 2-3 hours to get her down at night time and she totally skipped a nap at home with Jeff yesterday.  She has done okay napping at school and is currently napping at YaYa's house, but has been awful at home.  I feel like some of it is separation anxiety and some is pushing her boundaries with us.  She has also had meltdown after meltdown this week.  She has refused to get dressed for school to the point that I have had to change clothes because I sweated through the first set trying to get her clothes on her while she kicks and screams.  She loves school but will say she doesn't want to go to school or throw her shoes off in the car.  The same has happened a bath time, bed time, etc.

She has been pooping more regularly, every other day since she had COVID, but she is still having extremely large stools and blood in her stool.  I talked to her GI nurse and pediatrician yesterday and we are trying to formulate another plan or prescription for her.  I think this plays into her behavior as well as into her pickiness with food.  I think COVID may have affected her taste because she really hasn't had an appetite and is only eating smoothie pouches, some ice cream, snacks, and a few other things.  She seems to have dropped a lot of her safe foods.  I am hoping that this starts to change as well!  It is all so hard to figure out!

Happy Valentine's Day 2022

We have plenty of time to do Valentine's activities leading up to Valentine's Day since we were all home so long with COVID.  Luckily Finley was able to return to school for their Valentine's party.  The outfit that YaYa bought her was adorable:)

I had too much fun making the Valentine's for her preschool class!

Valentine's lunch!

Love bird for YaYa!
