Instant Pot

The Instant Pot is a game changer!  We have used it cut the cooking time of our fresh green beans by hours!  We tried ribs today and they were fall of the bone delicious.  Now we just have to keep finding more recipes to try!

New PJs and Apple Pie!

You would have thought it was Christmas morning when I brought these PJs out to give to the girls!  ha!  On separate Target shopping trips, they went bananas over these onesies, so we decided to surprise them with them.  

We wrapped up the weekend with having the girls help make apple pies out of our fresh apples from our orchard trip.  Aunt Pat's recipe does not disappoint.

Even though it is still HOT outside, we are getting into the fall spirit anyhow.  We headed over the mountain to take the girls and Grandma on a quick apple picking trip before Emily's soccer game.  It was hot, there were gnats, the soccer game was hotter, but it was still a good day.  Making apple oatmeal in our new Instant Pot was a plus this year!  Nothing beats a fresh apple! 

Nautical Bathroom

Even though we've already done plenty of work on the girls' bathroom, we decided we needed a change.  We added beadboard, trim around the mirror, a new faucet, and a fresh nautical theme.  I am loving the navy walls!

First JMU Football Game of the Year!

Hailey had never been to a JMU football game before, so she was very excited to find out what the fuss is all about.  I'm certain that she loved every minute of it considering she and Emily refused to leave until the very end.  They got to wear their Puppy Pound t-shirts, got free tickets into the game, and had hotdogs, fries and lollipops!  The streamers that fly from above after every score were also very exciting!  They loved catching streamers and then throwing them out after the next score.  We also ended up with a huge streamer ball which they threw at the end of the game and hit a man in the back!  ha!  Thank goodness he was a good sport! 

GO DUUUUUUUUKES!!!!!  We are hoping for another National Title! 

Fall Decor!

Last year we started collecting some fall decor, but this year we put it in high gear and got just about everything that we need.  We made our own wreath and I couldn't be happier with how it came out!  Truth be told, we decorated at the end of August, but just finished everything this week.  Mums are in the ground as well and we are hopeful that they make it and return next year. 

We also threw some pumpkin pies in the oven and put some chili on the stove to finish our kick off into fall! This is my favorite time of the year!
