Easter 2016

We met Grandma and PaPa at Stella, Bella, and Lucy's for an Easter brunch.  The girls got very cool Easter baskets from Grandma and PaPa and had some yummy french toast and fruit for breakfast.

Very excited

After we had brunch, we headed to Crozet to see MeeMee and PawPaw.  The girls lucked out again with another basket of goodies.  We headed out to have several Easter egg hunts after they were nice and sugared up.

Ready to run out of the door

Eggs are everywhere

The final result was that they tied with 23 eggs each.

All done

Then the adults had to find the eggs

Luckily we found them all

Engagement Day 3/21/16

Today, I got off work a little early and came home to this amazing surprise!  There was a long string of blog entries, notes, and photos of our entire relationship from the very beginning hanging from our kitchen to living room.  At the end there was one special note and proposal.  Oh and yes, a ring which I didn't see until he showed it to me. ;)

I couldn't have asked for a more perfect day on our second anniversary!

Very happy couple!

Of course the guys on Jeff's shift had to make him a cake when he returned to work. LOL.

First grilling of the season

Huli huli chicken, courtesy of Pinterest, on the grill for dinner.  We are enjoying the first few warm days of spring!  The dogs got a doggie door installed in the basement, a new twin size bed in their doggie room, and some rugs.  Now we just have to keep working with them to get them comfortable in their room during the day.  They want to run back up the back porch and sit to come back in instead of going back into their room in the basement.

Time to get in the garden!

Jeff and I made a trip to Millmont and got some cold weather plants so we could get them in the ground.  We got cabbage, cauliflower, chard, and broccoli.  Marley was our fearless helper.  All the dogs loved being outside with us too.

First soccer game of the season

Emily is on a new soccer team this season and we are all liking the change.  Her coach is very enthusiastic and really tries to get them to work together as a team.  The girls had a great first game.  Finally, it is looking more like soccer and less like bees swarming the ball.

Moving tree stands

It was almost 80 degrees today so we got out of the house to do some riding on the 4-wheeler and move our tree stand. It was so nice to spend some time outside and get in a nice long ride in the woods.  Debbie did lots of clearing on the trails and the guys headed back out later to cut up a few downed trees.

Happy 9th Birthday, Emily!

It was a Shopkins birthday party for this 9 year old!  We went to see Zootopia and then opened presents and had cake back at our house to celebrate.   I think both of the girls had plenty of fun!
