COVID Vaccines and Blowouts

YUCK!  That's a toddler blowout from the Miralax.

Eating her favorite - Chick-fil-a nuggets.

Loving Llama Llama

Her favorite Play-Doh tool is the "hole" as she likes to call it.

Our little vet in the making.  She loves to call the stethoscope "heart beat."

Man down...After a 2 hour wait to get his second dose of the COVID vaccine, Jeff felt awful for a good 48 hours afterwards.  He had a fever, body aches, etc.  Finley didn't understand why he was in bed all day. I am hopeful that getting the Pfizer vaccine will be better than his results with the Moderna version.

We got Mexican take out from Iguana Azul.  Finn is a fan of cheese quesadillas.

Allllll the deer want their apples.  Ha!

Beachbody workouts every single morning!

The scene at my vaccination clinic was MUCH better than Jeff's experience thankfully. I was in and out in 20 minutes or so.

I stopped by Trader Joe's and picked up lunch.  I also got to meet this hottie in the parking lot while he was on duty.

Finger paints for the win...well if she could use a brush.  She doesn't like to be messy!

We used some lavender goat's milk bath tonight....so silky smooth!

Finn loves sitting with me in the morning and stealing my oatmeal. :)

This is her "look what I found" face.  She found a hershey kiss in the pantry and unwrapped it and started eating it.

Finley is 22 months old!

Weight: 22 lbs 4 ounces

Teeth: 14, incisors on top and bottom are popping through

I love to:
  • Read, read, read - still at the top of my list!
  • Elmo- I sleep with Elmo each night and ask to wear my Elmo shirts and slippers during the day.  Mama is planning an Elmo birthday party for me:)
  • Spin around and make myself dizzy!  This is new for me:)  I say "turn around, turn around" and spin in circles and laugh.  Mama has to catch me so I don't hit my head on anything!
  • Play-Doh -  I love putting smiley face imprints on Play Doh, cutting out shapes, making snakes, and throwing balls of Play Doh.  I really like cutting out fish and dolphin shapes to play pretend swimming.  I am good at cleaning up and putting each color away in the correct container.
  • Climbing up my foam gym pieces and jumping off into Mommy or Daddy's arms.
  • Play hide and seek!  I really love when Emmy and Hay Hay play with me.  I cover my eyes and count to 5 (or 2...haha)  and take off looking.  I love finding everyone! However, when I hide I sometimes just stand in the middle of the room like no one can see me.
  • The Snow - if there is snow on the ground, I want to be outside playing in it!  I'll running around saying "outside" and "snowsuit" until someone takes me out!
I can:
  • Say, "I love you, Mommy!"  and other short sentences.  I am speaking very clearly now.
  • Add colors to objects when talking about them - "the purple fish, the black tail, etc."
  • Go down the slide in the living room by myself or almost by myself;).  I love to climb up to the top and slide down to Mama.
  • Read almost the whole book - Can I Play Too? Mama reads it with me and I love to fill in the blanks or read entire pages by myself!  The snake getting bonked on the head with balls is my favorite!
  • Follow Mama's workouts and even do the stretches and running correctly.
  • Use the brush and mop to help clean up.
  • Help put away the dishes from the dishwasher and point out who's dish is who's and what size they are.

I love to eat:
  • Mac and cheese (by far the favorite!)
  • Amy's pizza bites
  • Chic-fil-a nuggets
  • French fries (I think any trip in the car is going to result in Chic-fil-a nuggets and fries because I never get out of the house for anything else due to COVID.)

I don't like to eat:
  • Vegetables and meats unless they are lunch meats
Favorite songs:
  • Country music on Pandora - especially George Strait and Alan Jackson.  I run to Daddy when these artists come on and make him dance with me and sing to me.  I call these Dada's songs.
  • Elmo's songs
  • Any of the Super Simple songs or Patty Shukla
  • 10 Little Fishies and Baby Shark

I love them all, but rotate through favorites that I want to hear each day.  Some are added to the list daily and some are taken off daily.

UVA Children's Hospital Visit and Valentine's Day 2021

Finley had a visit with UVA Children's Hospital because of her issues with constipation and/or diarrhea.  We ended up doing an x-ray which was fine.  We attempted a miralax cleanout which was no fun for anyone.  However, we are still ending up with loose stools and fussiness with the miralax so hopefully we will adjust those doses some and get things figured out.

On another note, because of COVID this was Finley's first real outing.  Only one of us could go inside, so Jeff had to stay in the car and listen to the conversation over the phone.  Finley loved seeing other kids and people in the office.  She didn't even mind the doctors because she was so happy to be somewhere new!

Finley made Mommy and Daddy these cute stained glass hearts at YaYa's house. :)

Finley and I made some Valentine's for Daddy and YaYa. :)

Then we worked on some color matching with hearts for Valentine's Day.  These activities are so easy for her, but they also give her something to focus on for a few minutes.

Working out with Mommy!

Watching Dada!

Deer watching in the evening...

Someone stole my jacket.

Finley and I made Daddy a pink pound cake for Valentine's Day!

That sour cream face...

We also managed to make homemade cinnamon rolls for Valentine's Day breakfast.  They were amazing!

YaYa had some Valentine's gifts for Finley to open...
