A Little Fishing and Shooting

Jeff and I ran over to the Sportsman's Club to do a little fishing and shooting while Finley was at school.  We only caught a few small ones because we couldn't use the boats, but it was still a pretty morning.  I had a lot of fun practicing with my gun and I actually surprised myself with how well I shot after taking the last three years off since we had Finley.  It was so nice to get out and do something!

When we got back, Finley played in the pool and we had a relaxing evening!

First Ballet Class

Finley had her first ballet class at Xpressions Dance Center.  I signed her up for 4 summer classes to see if she likes it.  I think it is fair to say she loved it.  I was so proud of her for going right into the class and not looking back.  The teacher brought us in at the end so the girls could show off what they learned.

Visit from Megan

Megan came to visit for a night!  Finley was so excited to see her and talk to her about everything under the sun.  Megan brought gifts as usual - which she does not need to do!  Finley loved the new Pigeon and Elephant and Piggie books and crafts that Megan gave her.  We had a nice visit.  We ended up going to Charlottesville and eating at Stick's before doing a little shopping.  It's too bad that she lives so far away!

Finley got some afternoon pool time in at YaYa's house! She sure does love to splash people and Zoey!

I went to pick up dinner for us and by the time I got back to Grandma's Finley spiked a fever and was down for the count.  She had another virus that kept her out of commission for a couple of days.  Poor girl!

We did some painting and beach prep since we were all at home!

And lots of reading as usual!

I love these summer evenings!

Treasure Hunts and Curls

Our little pirate has had lots of treasure hunts at Grandma's house.

Finley had a water day at school and loved playing in the splash pad as long as no one splashed her.

Somehow she discovered Doritos...help us.

One day she won't fall asleep in my lap...savoring every moment.

Tonight she started laughing hysterically while blowing bubbles on the deck.  The giggles are just too much for my Mama heart. :)

This however, is real life too. haha!

Finley got a letter in the mail from Emy at camp and she was so excited to open it!
