Jeff dropped Emily off at Smith Mountain Lake this morning for 3 weeks of camp/work. She applied for the YCC after hearing about it from her counselor and luckily she got in! We are super excited that she has this opportunity. They do not allow any electronic devices and she can only call home on Wednesdays. She is staying in a small cabin with 5 other girls and 3 crew leaders. The quarters are tight, so it will be interesting to see how she does. They learn how to cook their own food, work on projects like trails, painting etc., and have to clean. She will get paid $500 at the end for her work. Hopefully she enjoys it. We know it will be life changing for her!
