Bugg's Island 2017

While Jeff was fishing the week away at Bugg's Island with the boys, Emily and I made some peanut butter cookies and I visited her school.  I helped Mrs. Leitch with her science classes one afternoon.  They were putting together terarium/aquarium combos out of 2-liter bottles.  Emily was pumped that I was there to help and for the most part the kids did a good job other than potting soil all over the floor;)

Jeff's group, on the other hand, had to deal with some major flooding as you will see in the pictures.  They couldn't really get up to the banks to fish so it made it more difficult.  It sounded like they had fun anyhow and still caught some good ones!

Baby Robins are Back!

April 27th Day 1 - one egg... Did you know they lay 1 egg a day for 4 days?!

Nest on top of the bike under our screened porch

3 eggs on April 29th!
Momma sitting on her eggs.  She was the same one from last year and definitely is starting to look a little rough.

Babies are born May 13th

So tiny!

May 17th, 4 days old and getting big!

May 19th, full of feathers!

The robins flew away after 13 days...well, we hope they flew away without the dogs getting them.  I don't think it ended well for one of them. :(

And, just for fun here are some mockingbird babies that Jeff sent me pictures of from Station 11.  Their beaks are so cute!

Jungle Book Musical

Emily was part of the elephant troupe in the Jungle Book musical at Wilson.  As usual, she looked for us in the audience anytime she played a part;)  The musical was great and it had to be good for me to say that because I'm not the biggest fan of school plays.  The cast did an excellent job, it wasn't too long, the songs were cute, and there were plenty of funny parts.  The best part was that Emily LOVED being on stage and could care less whatever else happened.

Mole removal

My margins were not clear with an atypical mole on my ankle so just as it healed up, I had to have surgery to remove more tissue.  It was much more involved than I expected and ended up taking almost 2 months to heal (I'm typing this at the end of June and I still have a scab!).  The sutures came loose and were taken out early which probably caused most of the delay.

Easter 2017

Easter morning, the girls got their stuff from the Easter Bunny and then Grandma came down and delivered even more stuff!  Their special gift was a locket with a picture of Grandma and PaPa in it. This was something that they had asked Grandma for and she did an awesome job with them!

Happy Easter!

Everyone getting in the shot

Getting ready for a hunt
Jeff and I even got our own basket from Grandma:)  We dressed down to hide all of the eggs for the egg hunt:)

And they are done!

Counting eggs

Counting eggs.  You have to keep an eye on this one;)

Jeff's parents stopped by later in the afternoon and of course MeeMee had to play frisbee and twirl around with Emily.
