Back from the Beach

These pictures somehow posted in opposite order, but I am not trying to fix them because who has time for that!  Since we got back from the beach, we've gotten back into the old routine of morning walks, playtime, nap, lunch, play, nap time, outside time, dinner and bedtime!

This girl can climb just about anything so you'd better be watching her!  We moved this chair up from the basement into her nursery because we are putting her crib in this afternoon.  I turned around and she was standing up on it!  Jeff asked her to show us how and she calmly turned around and got down and then climbed back up. :)

My mom called because she had a black snake around her back deck.  Jeff, the snake master, went up and retrieved it and then put it back into the field.  It ended up being a black rat snake and it was a big one!

Climb and explore, that's what we do!

And throw food....UGH.  When is she ever going to stop?  Marley got yogurt all over his back during lunch.  I am sooooo tired of cleaning the mess up every single day.  She does not listen to "no."  She does respond when you ask her to put her cup back in its spot most of the time and praise her, but I don't remember a meal when the floor wasn't covered in food.

We've made a couple of trips to Grandma's house to get out and about.  She loves running all over her house pointing out the ducks and geese and chasing Holly.

Bird watching like Grandma...

Summer grilling with veggies from the garden!

Finn loves being in cars, especially if she can just play and not be in her seat.  Grandma stopped by so she had to get in and play around and talk to Holly.

We've moved her tricycle outside so there is one more thing to do out there!

These two love rolling around on the floor!

Someone has been demanding Yogis and milk before bed....I think it has actually helped her sleep longer than usual.

Same girl, same.  That feeling when you return from the beach.

She loves her flash cards!

Gym time:)

Sitting in the car waiting to get called in for her 15 month appointment.  I am glad they are so cautious about her appointments.  It may take longer than usual, but at least we know it is clean and safe. This time however, Finn was scared to death of the nurses and doctor.  Whether it was because of the masks or her age or that we were missing nap time, it definitely was not her favorite place to be.  She got two shots this time and then we were on our way.  We discussed sleeping, eating, pooping, and her excema (all the usual's for her!)  We've decided that it is time to move her crib into her own room and see if she does any better sleeping.

Goodbye Emerald Isle 2020

We had to checkout by 9:00 this morning and surprisingly we were packed up and out before then.

Our first stop was at a Cracker Barrel for the bathroom and then the back of a Walmart parking lot to have our lunch. (Somewhere right before Emporia, I can't remember the exit)  This stop was more relaxing than on the parking lot on the way down.  However, this is where the troubles began...after eating Finn had a poopy diaper which created a horrible diaper rash.  She hadn't pooped almost the whole week so I knew this was going to be the start of several more.  We put the combo medicine on her that we go before we went to the beach and got back on the road.  We didn't make it five minutes before she was screaming and crying because she had gone again.  We pulled off the next exit and changed her diaper on the tailgate again.  The rash looked worse already.  I sat in the truck with her and got her cooled back down and calmed down and then we got back on the road.  We ended up having to stop 3 more times.  It was awful, she was in so much pain that she was screaming and fighting us trying to change her.  Other than being sick, I don't remember her crying like this before.  By the time we stopped the last time, her rash was even bleeding.  Luckily, our last stop was at one of the county fire stations and we were able to make it home.  It took her a few days to completely recover and for the rash to heal.  I think we would have made it home in record time if we did not have the rash and poopy diapers to deal with...poor baby!

The garden exploded while we were gone!

We didn't make our second cobbler until we got home.  Britton brought us fresh blackberries from his house so we used those and it was delicious.

One last meal from the beach!
