Emerald Isle 2020- Day 1

Finley slept pretty well for a night away from home.  Just like getting up and walking the dogs, she likes going out on the deck in the morning!

We took an early morning walk to look at the ocean, birds and search for shells.  There were not many shells on the beach.

My annual anniversary picture while at the beach!  Happy 4th Anniversary, my love!

Finn was very happy to have so many new things to look at!

She also likes the sectional couch in the house...she fits perfectly in between cushions. And, nope, nothing has changed. She still likes to steal all of the remotes.  Yes, they were all lysoled.

The pelican behind her was a hit all week!  We had to use it to help get her medicine down. haha.

As usual, she wants to put on my shoes or tell me to put them on to take her outside.

While Finley took a long nap, the girls and Jeff went down on the beach and I had some time to read my book on the deck.  It's nice being able to watch them while I'm on the deck.

The beach definitely wasn't very busy in the mornings.

I think Dad came to say hello this morning.  When do you see a cardinal at the beach?  It hopped around on the deck and kept looking inside.

After a two hour nap, the crew came up from the beach and we had lunch.  This girl will steal a sunchip from you if you don't watch out! It is so funny that she likes the strong flavor considering how picky she is about food.

Cantaloupe, blueberries and grapes were also on the menu.  The rest of us at hotdogs and baked beans.

After some play time and dancing to music, Finley went down for another two hour nap.  She obviously needed to catch up on some sleep from the ride down.  I was able to go down to the beach with the girls and read a little.

Once I saw that Finley was up from her nap, we came back up to get showers before dinner.  Toots took a few minutes to take in the beach before we got cleaned up.

The girls worked on their journals from Grandma while Jeff cooked dinner.

These two are a pain to take pictures of...those faces!   They had lasagna for dinner and we had fresh green beans that we cooked and brought down with us, pecan crusted grouper, shrimp and rice.

Finley enjoyed some time practicing her walking on the deck after dinner and kept an eye out for birds and dogs on the beach.

You know it was a good day when the girls were passed out at 6:30 pm!
