Emerald Isle 2020- Day 3

Some decided to get up at 5:15 this morning, so yawns and coffee on the deck it was.

The day started out with a red flag, but went back to yellow.  We managed to make it the whole week with only one red flag and absolutely perfect weather!  There was a heat wave at home, so we were more than happy to sit by the ocean in the upper 80's with a nice breeze all week..

Someone was so sleepy after her walk that she started to get a little fussy.

And of course that means tugging on my shirt to nurse.

We managed to have some breakfast and get her ready for the beach before 8:00.

We had a blast playing in the water, pointing out the birds and dogs, and waving at the joggers as they went by.

We took our annual foot picture, even though it is always better to do in the evening without the shadows.

This might have been Finn's favorite!

After Finley went down for her nap, our normal routine began. Jeff and I both loved Elin Hilderbrand books, so we are reading a few of those now.

The afternoon flew by!  Finley loves having us carry her close to the two figurines in the house (the pelican and the sandpiper) so that she can say "duck" and point them out. She has also learned what a crab is and point out the painting of one on the wall.

There wasn't a lot of playing in the sand for these two this year.  They preferred to stay in the water as long as possible and complain about drying off to reapply their sunblock.

Doesn't this look delicious?  It is the salsa that we made to go with out fish tacos.  They might have been my favorite meal of the week.  They were so good that we had them twice.

Before bedtime beach watching....gosh, the evenings are so peaceful!
