4th of July!

The pool has been entertaining while in the house, but today we are going to try to use it outside.  She seems just as happy to throw it around and scoot underneath of it empty though!

For the first time ever, we watched the baby robins hop out of their nest and line up on the ladder ready to fly away!  What was so exciting, turned out to be a nightmare just 30 minutes later. Ugh! The first robin flew out into the yard and Jeff followed it around watching it go under the fence and then back into our yard.  As I was telling him to leave it alone, literally out of nowhere I saw a shadow and then talons!  A hawk grabbed the baby literally within 5 feet of Jeff as it was hopping around on the ground.  I screamed as it was landing, but it was too late and just like that one of the babies was gone.  I felt awful watching it happen especially as Jeff was trying to help it.  Over the next couple of hours the other two left the nest and were able to make it to shrubs.  We watched the parents continue to feed them so we are hoping those two made it!

Finley loved feeling the water in the pool, but it was a little too chilly for her to get all the way into the water.

Jeff rigged up our beach umbrella so that she would be in the shade while she played.  We played for a little while before Finn had enough and was ready for nap time.

Love that she has a 4th of July bathing suit!

After naptime, we took some pictures with my mom and then grilled up our 4th of July meal. Burgers, broccoli salad and carrot fries were on the menu.  Everything was delicious.  We are really loving the Dave's buns! Finn made a mess of her food as usual and needed a serious bath!  The pictures were difficult to take because of the sun, but as usual Finn looks adorable.

We got a nice thunderstorm after dinner to cool things off!
