Happy Valentine's Day 2017

Luckily, I had the day off since we weren't sure how long our trip would take.  We needed the day to relax and recover from being on the road.  Dad was shining down on us with a rainbow for Valentine's Day:)  We took mom to SBL for lunch and then had a relaxing afternoon before Emily came home from school.  She loved her cards/gifts from everyone and even baked her cake for us.  :)

NEW Boat!!!

After a pretty rough night of trying to sleep in a hotel and coughing my lungs up, we got to the dealership bright and early!  I should have had a coffee in hand like Jeff did.  My favorite part of the morning was watching Jeff look over the boat and seeing the excitement in his eyes.  I'm still a little in shock that the boat I picked out online weeks ago is the one that we actually went to get!  The color package sold me, along with the fact that it is brand new and we know how it will be treated.

It took us almost 11 hours to get home after spending a couple hours at the dealership.  To say it was a long day is an understatement!  But, we made it and the boat is in the garage for now:)

Home and in the garage at 10:00 pm

Nashville TN

We certainly had zero plans going into our road trip, but considering the circumstances it was amazing!  Jeff and I left Monday morning for Grand Rivers, KY to pick up our NEW boat!!  Unfortunately, after feeling bad for several days I went to the doctor on Sunday and was diagnosed with the flu.  I got my flu shot this year, so I'm guessing that's why it wasn't quite as bad as it could have been.  Nothing was going to stop me from going to get our boat, so I loaded up on cough medicine and alka seltzer and we were on the road.

It took us about 8 hours to get to Nashville which I was dying to see one way or another.  A quick drive through downtown told us that driving a large truck is not the way to go with the parking situation.  Once we had that figured out, we walked down Broadway and saw lots of famous honky tonks. It was hysterical to see how many people were already drunk and bar hopping at 3:30 in the afternoon.  We popped into Tootsie's, Robert's and some others to hear a little music.  We didn't stay long because we wanted to check out the shops and get some dinner before figuring out where we were going to stay.

I was blown away back the western wear shops and was in heaven with the rows of boots and hats!  We each got a hat and some amazing boots!  Then we stopped by Jack's BBQ and had a yummy meal before deciding to hit the road.

We ended up driving another hour and a half and made it just outside of Grand Rapids, KY so we would be very close to the boat dealership in the morning.  Our hotel was super clean and only $52 a night.  Score!
