Happy Halloween!

All the girls got dressed up for a day of fun!  I was a scarecrow, Hailey was a character from Ever After High, and Emily was Dorothy.  I still can't believe that some of my students were afraid of my makeup.  Jeff had to work so he missed out on the fun.

Happy 8th Birthday, Tank!

Tank, Gracie, and Holly turned 8 years old today!  It's hard to believe they are already 8.  Jeff and Emily came over even though it was a school night and we took the Tank out for a treat at Kline's.  He goes crazy over vanilla yogurt or ice cream so it was a great treat for him.

Eric Church Concert

Last night Kimberly and I went the Eric Church concert at JPJ.  This is the third concert that I've won tickets to over the last several months.  There's no way I can afford concert tickets so making a few phone calls to the radio station is the way to go!

Dwight Yoakam and Brandy Clark opened for him. Kimberly and I had a good time reminiscing about Dwight's dance moves and older songs that we listened to in high school.  All three performers were very entertaining!  We even got to meet Brandy Clark during one of our bathroom breaks.  It seems like the only time Kimberly and I actually get to go out and socialize is for country concerts; last time it was Phil Vassar and we got to meet him too:)

Boys at the Beach

Jeff spent all last week in Frisco, NC on his annual fishing trip with his dad and the guys. He sent me lots of pics while he was there.  I was just a teeny tiny bit jealous!  Luckily, they had great weather other than the last couple of days when a hurricane out in the Atlantic caused the water to be a little rough and dirty. Unfortunately for me, the weather here was rainy and cold.  Other than fishing, the guys enjoyed lots of yummy unhealthy food (fried fish, ribs, sausage gravy) and plenty of beer :)

Monster High Birthday!

Mom and I spent some time at school on Friday preparing tutus and a banner for Hailey's 7th birthday party.  The tutus weren't difficult to make, but I could have done without the constant cutting of tulle.
I didn't do as much as I usually do for her birthday parties, but it was just enough for the girls to enjoy without costing too much money.

Rich and Whitney joined my parents and Jeff and I for the party.  It was a really nice time and the girls had all day to play together and be silly.  Thanks to Jeff for helping me clean and cook Saturday morning while the girls played.  We made some deviled eggs and baked beans and my parents brought over some Chic-Fil-A nuggets, sweet tea, and cole slaw.  Perfect party food and not difficult to prepare.

Hailey scored in the gift department with a new coat and monster high shirt, lots of monster high dolls, DVDs, a MH make up kit, Legos, and a Barbie puppy to take care of. Both girls were tired by the time they went home at 8:00 pm.  I think I might have been a little worn out too. ;)
