Happy 4th of July!

This was her school outfit before the holiday break. :) 

 After a day of fun and a missed nap, Finley was so worn out that she fell asleep on the couch:) 

We completed her Kline's coloring contest entry and dropped it off to get a free ice cream.  She was so proud of herself that she held it behind her back to surprise the ladies at the front window. 

Showing off her favorite toy right now - a phone/wallet that has gone to school with her every day this week. 

We spent a lot of the day swimming in the pool and got in some good arm and kick practice. 

Of course we had to have a water gun fight!

Big Girl Bluey Bed

Finn has been asking for a big girl bed for a while, so after picking out a bed set from Target (Bluey, of course!) we got her all set up today.  We did have a slight meltdown because she wanted her head at the footboard, but after some compromising we moved the headboard to the direction that her bed always was in her crib and she took right to the bed.  It drives me crazy that it is facing the wrong way, but one step at a time!  It took a little getting used to and she was afraid of falling off, but she seems to love it now and has done great sleeping in it!

Pictures of her sleeping will never get old.  So sweet. 

 

Crozet Independence Day Parade 2023

Our third year of attending the parade with Finley:)  Also, our third year of wishing there was still an "old Crozet."  It was so nice to see Allie and the rest of the James clan.  We remembered Finley's ear protection this year after she was so scared last year! This year she said her favorite part was getting big kid candy.  She's still a picky candy eater which we appreciate.  She tasted lollipop after lollipop and most went straight to the trash. 

Luckily, the storms ended right before the parade started! 

We continued our tradition of getting Chick-fil-a on the way home, but this year we also had to stop by Target to get Finley a "fashem mashem."  She earned on of these after taking all five days of her antibiotic for strep that tasted really bad.  I'm just happy our sticker chart worked!

Tuckered out after a long day...fell asleep sitting up while I was reading.
