Jeff's 40th Birthday!

We celebrated Jeff's big 4-0 by having breakfast at Cracker Barrel with my parents and his, plus the girls.  It was very nice to get everyone together for a meal and start Jeff's birthday out early.  

After Cracker Barrel we headed to PetSmart to look at the puppies from Augusta Dog Adoptions.  I'm still not sure how we left without taking one of them home with us!  And we rounded out the day with presents, dinner on the grill, and my famous homemade tiramisu.  I think it is safe to say that it was a good day!

The Preakness and Baby Birds

Jeff and I were both regretting not being at the Preakness this year after having so much fun last year!  We made the best of it by making blackeyed susans to drink, betting online, and having a good meal!  I think we will be back one day!

A momma robin laid four eggs under our screened in porch and we had blast checking on them and watching them grow! We had no idea that from the time they hatch, they are only in the nest about 13 days.  Ours flew away at 11 days!  The rate at which they grow is insane!

Family reunion - Jeanette and Andi were in town from CA, so we met them for mexican. It was very nice to catch up!

 Hailey decided that she wanted to use my computer to write a paragraph.  She learned how to highlight passages and divided her paragraph up into several sections (topic sentences, details, etc.) and colored coded them.  No, this was not a school assignment, just something she wanted to work on.

 Hailey also got to spend some time with Grandma and Papa.  She learned out to play Scrabble and even solved some puzzles!  She's one smart girl.

Just for fun

Jeff and I are getting our engagement photos taken soon, so we've been trying to find outfits that work for both of us.  Good lord, what a task!  I think we've tried on the entire closet and even gotten some new clothes.  We put the selfie stick to work to help us decide what to wear.  I guess you'll find out what we chose in a future post!

Mother's Day

 We had a wonderful Mother's Day!  I got to spend the day with Emily who brought me flowers and a great card.  I also received a very nice call from Evan which I wasn't expecting.  We were able to go over the mountain to see Jeff's mom in the afternoon and then have dinner at Outback with my mom.  I'm glad that dad was feeling well enough to get out! The girls had a good time getting to see everyone!
