New Year's Eve

After a long day of travel to and from SeaQuest, we relaxed for New Year's Eve.  Finn and I went to bed early but Jeff and the girls woke me up for the dropping of the ball.  Not much drinking or partying going on here!

SeaQuest Aquarium

After reading about SeaQuest Lynchburg on Facebook during the fall, I thought it would be a fun place to take the girls.  It was even more appealing when I found out that teachers and their families get in for free!  We decided to take a roadtrip on New Year's Eve, hoping it would be less crowded.  I think we made the right call.  There were plenty of people but it wasn't overly crowded.  It was the perfect size for Finley because we were able to get in and out in about an hour.  Hailey and Emily enjoyed reading about the animals and being able to pet the skates and other animals.  I was surprised how many animals that you could feed or interact with, although you had to buy tokens to do so.

The girls especially like the large aquarium that you could walk and sit under while the fish and sharks swam by.  It made me a little claustrophobic, but it was super cool! Finley was entertained by all of the new things to see and stayed happy the whole time!

How did you spend your break?

We spent a LOT of time rolling around and exploring the floor, playing with new toys, going for walks, and visiting Grandma!

You've got to watch where you step with this little monster on the floor!

And can we talk about this stool for a minute?  It may be at the top of my must have items for a new mom.  Jeff and I both agree that this thing is a total lifesaver when you feeding her or just holding her.  The angle is just right to make things more comfortable.  I use it even when I am not hold her now!

Just hanging out at Grandma's house while Mama and Dada install Grandma's new microwave.

 Finley loves her new toys!

Fin is able to stand with some assistance for a couple minutes at a time now.

Grandma gave us an Eufy vacuum!  We are hoping that it helps us keep up with the Jack hairs that are always all over the house.  So far it has definitely made a difference.  Finley loves "Marty" as we call her and is quite entertained by her movements.

All of a sudden after several weeks of being too distracted to listen to books, Finley has decided that she LOVES "Where is Baby's Belly Button?"  She wants me to read it over and over again and she now helps turn the pages.  I think she really enjoys looking at the large print on each page as well as the flaps.

One day we are walking with sunhats and the next we have on winter hats. Ha!

We are soaking up as many naps times as we can with Fin in our arms.  Even though she should probably be put down in her crib, Jeff and I both decided that we will hold her as much as possible because this time will be over before we know it.
