New Year's Eve 2017

We had a fun filled night of "Beat the Parents", crazy girls, and watching television.  Of course there were a million attempts at selfies too!  Happy New Year!  We hope 2018 is much better than 2017!!

Last Day of Hunting

We gave it a try and went out hunting one more time, but weren't able to shoot anything.  I did have fun as usual with my selfie attempts.  Ha!

The girls absolutely love this song so whenever it comes on I have to send them a picture.

And then there are these two fruitcakes....Don't ask, I do not know.

And this is what happens when you keep a messy room and then have to spend all day organizing, rearranging and donating! On a positive note, the girls are back to bunk beds and have much more room to play.

Christmas 2017

For the first time, we actually had Emily on Christmas Eve and Christmas morning.  It was nice to be there when she woke up and saw all that Santa brought!  Hailey was able to come over a little later and open her gifts too.  The new saucer chairs for their bedroom were a hit, along with plenty of unicorn stuff, clothes, headphones, baking aprons and cook books, soccer gear, etc.

We headed up to my Mom's house for brunch after the girls opened their gifts.  Brunch was extremely good!  We had an egg casserole, baked berry oatmeal, ham biscuits, broccoli salad, strawberries, etc.  Mom out did herself with the gifts just like Dad would have done.  I got a new camera, clothes, shoes, and special gifts like a handmade quilt made out of dad's old shirts and a gold piece to add to my necklace that is made out of dad's wedding band.

The girls were spoiled as usual and each got a special teddy bear made out of PaPa's sweatshirts and shirts.  The were both very emotional and love their bears!

Jeff and I headed to his parents house afterwards and then back to mom's house for a little bit Christmas night.  It was obviously a difficult first Christmas without dad, but it we made it just like he would have liked.
