Happy Halloween!

I love to make my own costumes for school.  Heck, I like to make any sort of costume that I can just because it involves some crafts.  So, after some time on Pinterest, I made myself a Leaf Fairy costume for school and I absolutely loved it.

Shirt, headband, hair ties, etc.

Wristbands and fingernails

The whole thing!  Just needed brighter leggings, but I forgot about that....

For Halloween, we all decided to dress up as super heroes.  I was supposed to be cat woman, but changed my mind at the last minute, went to Walmart and with Jeff's help we ended up making a bat woman costume instead.  I'm so glad that we did!

Making the symbols, wrist cuffs out of cups and felt, a belt, a cape, etc.

Even though we didn't get to see Hailey for Halloween, my mom and dad stopped by to see her and sent me these pics of a Monster High Girl.

Random Fall Pics

Here are some random pics that give you an idea of other things that go on around the house during the week!

Hailey and Leilani

Hailey at Julie's house on her 8th birthday morning, enjoying a special breakfast

Jeff and I got some mums from Millmont that were super cheap!
Jeff and I pulled the Halloween costumes up from the basement to see what we had.  We left the room for a few minutes and it looked like a tornado hit the living room.  The girls were trying on anything and everything, including two costumes that my mom made for me when I was little!  Vintage bunny and clown costumes are below:)

Hailey as a clown
We've spent many days and evenings running back and forth to Lowe's for house projects.  We've been there so much that the girls now get excited about riding on the big blue carts.

After photo of the mums in the ground with Hailey's pumpkins
Both girls entered the Kline's coloring contest this year.  They spent a good deal of time working on their drawings before we dropped them off at Kline's and got a free scoop of ice cream.

Finally, a picture of Hailey dressed up as a "compound word" for school.  She was a catfish; a cute catfish.

Hailey's 8th Birthday!

We finished out Hailey's birthday weekend with her "Princess Party" today.  Becky, Matt, and Shannon joined my parents and Jeff and Emily at the house to celebrate.  We are almost done with installing flooring and just got some new rugs, so it was nice to show off some of Jeff's hard work as well!

I made some ham and turkey rolls from Pinterest that were really yummy!  I guess they were so good that I forgot to take a picture of them.

Busch Gardens 2015

We took the girls to Busch Gardens for the first time as a fall treat and part of Hailey's birthday present.  This was the first time Hailey had been to an amusement park or on a roller coaster, so she was very excited about it!  Emily and Jeff love roller coasters so we knew that they would do more riding than us.  However, due to the size of the girls, Hailey could actually go on more rides than Emily even though she didn't choose to.

The weather was perfect!  Fall is the perfect time to go to amusement parks because the kids are back in school and it is isn't too hot.  Both girls had Friday off from school so I took the day off to avoid the weekend crowds.  I don't think I've ever been to a park where you really didn't have to wait in line.  Our wait time was only a few minutes if at all.

Hailey's first roller coaster was the Lochness Monster and she absolutely loved it.  She wanted to get right back on it, but we opted to find some new rides.  Jeff attempted the Gryphon by himself while we stood below and watched.  It looked super scary, but I ended up going back to try it later on and I think it is now my favorite roller coaster ever.  It is smooth so you don't get banged around in the seat, which is the part that I always dread about roller coasters.  I would have stayed on the Gryphon all day if I could, but Hailey wasn't up for such a scary ride and Emily wasn't tall enough.

Our day ended earlier than we anticipated after Hailey had a scary ride and got bumped around too much.  This turned out okay because we had a birthday party to prepare for once we got home!

Lots of Halloween decorations

Love the clydesdales
