Emerald Isle 2020- Day 2

I love waking up early and going out on the deck or down for a walk on the beach!  There is nothing better than the ocean breeze and sunrise.

This girl is a mess...climbing machine!

Finley loved the blueberry pancakes that we froze and brought with us. Win!

This morning we decided to take Finley out on the beach early while we set up the tent for the day. It's much less stressful at this time of the day because it isn't hot yet and there is hardly anyone out.

Her first toes in the sand of the trip! She wasn't quite sure for a couple minutes, but that ended quickly.

She loved the water "wa wa".

It was a little scare at first in the deep sand.

Once those feet got wet, there was no stopping Finley.  She would get upset if the waves didn't reach her.

This is not a good age for the dry sand.  There is too much sand that gets thrown and then ends up everywhere!

Finn kept reaching for the water!

I love this face!  She was so excited!

Isn't that drop off crazy?  It happened over night!

I love that curly hair in the back!

My goodness, once she put her hands in the water, you couldn't keep her out of it.

We found out quickly that taking her to the beach requires a lot of coordination and cleaning to get the sand off.  Jeff and I were both covered in sand from holding her, so I got her bath read as he sprayed her off.  Then he bathed her while I showered off.

First bath before 9:00 am!

Jeff and I sat out and read a little together and watched the girls play during naptime.  Then we got back into our routine of him going to the beach in the morning and me going in the afternoon.

At lunch time we baked a peach cobbler so it would be ready for later.

Finley played in the living room and the girls watched her while we ran to the fish market.

Blowing kisses!

I finally decided to get in the water today!  It was so refreshing!

We brought Finley down after her nap, but this time we had to do sunscreen and it was hotter.  We didn't try that again the rest of the week.

Love her hair!

Poor baby got her first salt water splash in the face.

I'm not sure if it was the sunblock or the salt water, but she was definitely ready to go get cleaned up.

Flounder with a lemon cream sauce, coleslaw, peas and mashed potatoes for dinner.

Pulling Finley right up to the island was much easier than using her tray, but it also opened up the idea of feet on the table. haha

We are missing Sweet Spot this year, but we got the girls Double Dunker ice cream to have eat night!  They did not do as well with the sunscreen today. Grrr.
