Luckily, we were able to get Hailey for the whole time that Emily was here so that made it much easier on both of them and on us. It took about 24 hours for the constant phone usage to drive me nuts, so I put together a schedule for them. They thought it was an awful idea in theory, but once they had a schedule to follow everyone was much happier. They were actually excited about writing, doing crafts, and some science activities. Included in their schedule were two breaks outside, even if it was chilly. We all need to remember to get some fresh air! They spent some time in the basement dancing for exercise as well and came up out of breath and sweaty! We baked some cookies to enjoy while that were here as well.
Finley is on a schedule which helps keep me sane too. It makes the days go by much faster when you know what to expect and have things to do. Jeff and I have made extensive indoor and outdoor to do lists. We hope to work on the craft room, clean the carpets, organize things and do some financial research. We already have supplies to work on the garden and the yard, so that should keep us busy once the weather warms up a bit and the rain goes away.
The girls wrote from the perspective of a person that they picked from an image of New Yorkers living in an apartment building during quarantine. They came up with some very interesting ideas. Their second prompt was writing an advertisement for a new maple bacon breakfast slurpee. They definitely tried to sell us one!
