12 Weeks Pregnant

On Thursday, we went back to the Women's Center to have our 12 week nuchal ultrasound.  The appointment was the best one so far!  We got to see Baby Snead flipping around and being spastic on the monitor.  The tech gave us her best guess as to what we are having, but we will wait until 20 weeks to find out for sure.  If our insurance had not reset on Oct. 1st we could have gotten the blood work to confirm the sex for $165, but now it is $600 so we will skip that part. Grrrr.  The scan showed a very healthy normal looking baby with an extremely low chance of  Downs Syndrome or other disorders based on the screening. :)

I think we are both in agreement with the tech and if so, already have a name picked out:)   The heart rate was 153 and baby measured at 5.7 cm (2.2 inches long).  He/she is measuring 4 days bigger than my due date.  Right now the placenta is placed on the anterior side, but this should not cause a problem. We got some great pictures, but obviously being in the room and watching the baby move and see his/her cute profile was absolutely the best!

Thursday morning before our appointment, I had a very cold peanut butter banana protein shake and just after starting to drink it I felt some very strange movement which I am convinced was the baby waking up and flipping just like he or she did on the ultrasound.

12 WEEKS

Baby Size: Baby Snead is the size of a plum
Craves: thousand island dressing (big macs), french fries, sour cream
Dislikes: red sauce and chocolate that will cause heartburn
Symptoms:  nausea, but more gagging in the evenings either from drainage, excess saliva or acid reflux.
Momma Weight: 132

Daddy Weight: still sexy
Daddy notes:   Dana eats slow and goes to bed early yet still finds plenty of time to tell me how bad she feels.  Her bump is growing but maintains her same level of sexiness. She has started eating pop tarts against my medical advice.

HALLELUJAH!!!  The last day of estradiol and progesterone suppositories was FRIDAY!  This is such a big milestone.  I am hoping that I will sleep much better now!
