Last weekend, Brenda came into town and spend the weekend with my mom. It sounds like they had a good time and even took a quick trip to the parkway. I know it was good for my mom to have her sister around for a few days!
We all knew that Dad's birthday would be a hard day, so we tried to make the best of it. Jeff and I took my mom to lunch at Stella, Bella, and Lucy's and even used the gift certificate dad had given us right before our wedding. I loved just seeing his handwriting on this piece of paper and remembering all of the times we met him and my mom for lunch at SBL.
Jeff wore one of my dad's shirts and even ordered his favorite dessert, key lime pie. There is comfort in doing things that he would have enjoyed even though it is difficult at the same time.
After lunch, we decided we needed to do something fun and focus on the positive so we headed across the street to Waynesboro Golf and played their 9 hole course. It didn't take too long and other than the heat was a nice relaxing outing. We definitely need to play more golf!
