Pumpkin Carving!

Pics are all out of order, but we managed to carve a pumpkin this evening after we had an early "thanksgiving" dinner!  It was a long day of cooking, but I wanted to make sure Finley had the experience of carving a pumpkin this year! And to be honest, it may have been more for me than for her.  I loved the tradition of carving pumpkins each year and always looked forward to drawing my design for the face.

Finley wasn't quite sure about the pumpkin guts, but she did at least touch them.  She was more interested in the pumpkin once it was finished and lit.  She has been loving her pumpkin books - It's Pumpkin Day, Mouse and Biscuit Visits the Pumpkin Patch.

She was being very cooperative with the pumpkin picture..ha!

I read about how cutting the pumpkin open on the bottom makes it easier to light and to carry, so I tried the new technique this year.  The only downfall was not being able to lay it down to scrap the guts out as easily.

The mums behind Finn were a gift from a neighbor right after Finn was born.  They are huge now!

We had a yummy turkey dinner and YaYa came over to eat with us.

This play area is so much nicer now that it is organized!

My helper made sugar cookies for the first time!

Finley loves a trip to the basement.  She immediately starts playing with Hailey's doll house while we are trying to get something done.

Today, it was unloading a quarter of a cow that we got back from the butcher.  A friend of ours has grassfed cows and we were lucky enough to get a quarter this time!

Finley loves her neighbors- they are always sending something over for her!  Today she got a Peppa Pig Halloween book. :)

And the sleep regression continues-  Why oh why does this child refuse naps now?

I have been ending up with her in my lap just so she will sleep.  Those sweet cheeks and eyelashes make it all worthwhile.
