Poor Jack has Lupus

After noticing some cracking on Jack's nose we took him to the vet and got some antibiotics and ointment to put on it.  Unfortunately, his nose continued to get raw to the point where he wouldn't even use the doggie door.  He ended up having four biopsies done to find out if he has lupus.  After waiting a week for results, the diagnosis is lupus. :(  

He is now on prednisone and a special expensive ointment.  We will reevaluate in a month or so and see if he needs additional medication.  Lupus can not be cured so we will be dealing with this for life.  Thankfully some of his skin is returning to his nose. Poor guy!
