Thank goodness for 11-A! The boys showed up to work today and work they did. The concrete truck arrived on time and the assembly line of wheelbarrows got to work. They started pouring at 10:00 am and didn't take a break until 2:00 pm. I had no idea how much work went into the whole process. It would have been much easier if it was a sidewalk, but the width made it even more difficult. Of course the heat and sun did not help the guys. The concrete was drying quickly so they had to really stay on top if it. Luckily, when the 7 yards we ordered ran out and wasn't quite enough the company sent over another truck with a leftover yard that we were able to use.

Meanwhile I was busy in the kitchen trying to get lunch ready for all of those hungry bellies. I made curried chicken salad with walnuts and grapes, BLT pasta salad and cut up some fresh fruit. I had to get drinks, plates, cups, ice, etc. all ready and set up in the basement because after seeing the mess there was no way the guys could come upstairs. I think I made 10 trips up and down the stairs to get everything set up for them.
Finley got to try out her new beach chair while the boys were busy working. She mastered climbing in and out of it in no time at all.
Of course it decided to storm, but it didn't hurt the concrete. The rainbow that followed was beautiful.
Dada got to work on the stairs the next day! He had to get them in because Friday he went to Burkett's house to help him pour his concrete sidewalk.
Why does she look so old?! Look at those little curls:)
Happy happy girl!
Someone is thrilled to have her swing back up.
And, this is what happens when I try to work out.... haha
