12 Months Old! Eeek 1 YEAR OLD!

Weight: 19 lbs 5 oz

Height: 28 inches

Head Circumference: 17.5

Teeth: Two bottom teeth

I love to:
  • Go outside!  I will point to the door and then point to the door handle.  When we get outside, I will point to the stairs to go out into the yard and look at the trees.
  • Roll and root around on the couch like a dog when they get out of the bathtub!
  • Look at myself in the mirror!
  • Watch the vacuum cleaner and follow it around the house.
  • Bounce and dive off of the twin mattress on the floor in my room!
  • Look at pictures of my family.  I will point at the pictures on the wall, calendar, etc. and someone will have to pick me up and walk me around the room to look at all of them.
  • Go into the pantry and pull everything out onto the floor.
I can:
  • Pull up to standing at the coffee table, couch, crib, and using Mama's pants legs.
  • Point at my nose, my toes, ears, and my belly!  I can also show you my fingers.
  • Use the signs for milk and bye, bye.
  • Start clapping when someone sings Patty Cake
  • Point to things that I want and get upset if I don't get them.  I especially like to point at the door to the porch when I want to go outside or point at my pink car when I wanted to be pushed around.
  • I can pick out the books that I want to be read to me and I can turn the pages as we read.
  • I can find the caterpillar in any of the Eric Carle books and point it out when asked.  I keep wowing Mama and Dada by pointing out the caterpillar on even the most busy pages!  I can also find the "ball" and the "doggy"!
My favorites:
  • Books! Please read my favorites over and over and over again!  Like seriously, 10 times a day is NOT enough!
  • Mama's pull along caterpillar toy
  • Watching the doggies
  • Being outside on walks, swinging or just looking at everything.
  • Still love bath time!
  • Anything new- kitchen utensils, new sounds
  • Anything musical - jingles on commercials, toys that play music, etc.
I can say:
  • Hi
  • Mama
  • Dada
  • Diddy- for doggy
  • A loud yell that means "no" or frustration.
  • Huh Huh Huh means "yes"
Signs that I know:
  • Milk
  • Bye, bye
I love to eat:
  • Things I can put in my mouth myself like plain O's cereal, yogurt melts, creamies, goldfish, animal crackers.
  • Mandarin oranges
  • Yogurt
  • Bananas
  • Avocado
  • I am becoming picky and will demand what I want to eat and push the other things aside.  (We are offering more whole foods to explore, but Finn is not a huge fan yet.  She liked green peas one day and hated them the next.)
  • Mama did give me a tiny piece of her chocolate bunny and I leaned in for more and threw a fit when I didn't get it.  haha.
I don't like to eat:
  • Anything that is whole and green that is put on my plate (green beans, broccoli).  I make a disgusted face and throw it on the floor.
  • Guava
