First Birthday Day and Mama's Photos!

I'll include all of Grandma's great pictures of the day in the next post, but here is a recap...

Finley woke up from her nap to her first birthday present, a tricycle!  She wasn't sure about it at first, but now begs to be put in it and pushed around the house.  We need some warmer weather so we can take it for a spin outside. 

 We had a busy day of setting up for Finley's birthday even though we couldn't have the party that was originally planned.  The weather did not cooperate to take pictures outside, so I set up a little birthday studio space in her bedroom.  The fact that her crib is still in our bedroom really helped with this space!

I've been working on making Finn's birthday sign for the last week or so.  I think it came out great!

You can imagine what happened when we put her down in this space...lots of knocking things over, pulling bows off, throwing things. haha!   We did manage to get some good photos though and I think she had fun exploring.

After opening all of her gifts, we sang happy birthday and she got to try her cake!  I think she preferred the icing to the cake, but had fun playing with it either way.  She was certainly a mess and the highchair was destroyed. :)

She wanted to give Grandma some of her cake. :) 

She had a sugar high going on for an hour after her cake and was much louder than usual!  Her favorite toy of the day, the baby from Grandma, went with her everywhere and she even held it when she was falling asleep.

We moved it around on the coffee table and she did some real cruising for the first time!  She was in need of a serious bath after all of the cake, but it didn't do much to calm her down for the evening.  She struggled going to sleep and was up a lot through the night which I expected would happen.

 She needed her baby while nursing and trying to go to sleep.  I eventually had to take it away because she kept wanting to get up and play with it again when it was time to go to bed.
